Exhibitions
Apart from the picture itself and the encounter on the street, exhibitions are the only thing that interests me. Why actually?
Because then you automatically become an artist?
Who is an artist and why?
Personally, I am increasingly distancing myself from the word artist. Of course it sounds great and I feel good with it. But I don’t really need this term.
There's good art, bad art, modern art, fine art. But balanced against what enriches my life, these classifications don't take me any further, nor do they enrich my photos.
O. k. another time more. I digress.
Recently it occurred to me that I print my photos and hang them on the wall. I could also say it's a kind of analog photography. The photo in the Social Media becomes in my eyes ever more worthless. The pictures there don't do justice to my creativity and my expression. But that's also impossible.
If I exhibit my work I reach fewer people, but a hundred times more intensive. The pictures have a large format. Much more details can be perceived. You can linger a long time in front of it. And often it is the case that the actual message is only recognized at the second or third glance. That is very exciting and stimulating. And interesting conversations arise. Usually it is so that through an exhibition another door has opened. That has always been the case with me until now. And there are even people who have already bought a picture.
The last three years I have been very intense in the Ruhr area with my pictures on the way. But I would like to show also other regions of Germany. Of course Berlin Hamburg or Munich.
Very gladly abroad as well
We will see….
My advice for all those who would like to exhibit. Just do it. It's a wonderful experience and can only enrich you. In a way that the social media never can.
